When MTV pulled its 24/7 music video channels, one person rebuilt it in 48 hours out of pure nostalgia. Outlets covered it at launch, when the archive held around 20,000 videos. It is now 113,000+ hand-curated music videos and still growing, still free, still ad-free, no login, no algorithm.
Covered at launch at 20,000 to 33,000 videos. Today: 113,000+ and counting. More than 5x the archive, same free, ad-free promise.
MTV Rewind is a free, ad-free website that streams 113,000+ hand-curated classic music videos the way MTV used to.
MTV Rewind (also known as "I Want My MTV") was built in 48 hours by a solo developer after MTV shut down its last 24/7 music video channels in late 2025. Launched in January 2026 with around 20,000 videos, it has grown to 113,000+ hand-curated music videos across 87 channels, decade channels from the 70s through the 2020s, plus Yo! MTV Raps, Headbangers Ball, 120 Minutes, Unplugged, and the original August 1, 1981 launch lineup. It is free, with no ads, no login, and no algorithm.
Built and curated by Flex (Flexasaurus Rex), an independent developer and lifelong music-video obsessive.
